Dinner and a Movie

John and I went out on a date last night.  Dinner at New Deal Cafe in Old Greenbelt, MD. Then, TRUE GRIT.

New Deal Cafe serves Mediterranean and has live performers. From belly dancing to classical guitar to acoustic harp.  And works by local artists hang on the walls. Sometimes good; sometimes not so good. I love this little place.  Yummy food. Genuine entertainment.  Anti-pretentious.  Doesn’t try too hard. Doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not.

Then we walked across the courtyard to Old Greenbelt Theater to see TRUE GRIT. My favorite line: There is nothing free but the grace of God. Enjoyed the movie for all the obvious reasons, but mostly because it reminded me of my dad and his crush on Clint Eastwood.

Me outside New Deal.

Me inside New Deal.

My date.

Bruce on classical guitar.

John Guernsey on piano. His painting hangs above him.

Our happy waiter.

Old Greenbelt Theater. Like its name, it’s old.
